Berserker Build Overview The second class we’re looking into for our “Souls of the Ultimate Nation” exposé is the mighty Berserker class. These fierce warriors have honed their fighting skills into earth shattering attacks, and they’re the ideal brute for the SUN class line up.
The Basics
The Berserker class has two primary roles in SUN: the tank, and the damage dealer. These are the only class with an actual taunt, and has plenty of attacks to hit multiple enemies; thus, ensuring that the enemies focus is on him and not on his team mates. This class is designed to smash their enemies to a pulp, and use stuns or knockdowns to keep their enemies befuddled during the wallop.
The Weapons
Two-Handed Axes
Big axes are all the rage, or the instrument for your rage, as a Berserker. These axes swing slowly, but make quite the impact on their enemies. Two-handed axes are great for dealing damage to single targets, or to a group of enemies; additionally, these weapons are ideal for knocking your foes down – via Roland’s Knockdown fighting style – or piercing through the toughest armor – via Hughes’ Guard Breaker fighting style.
Two-Handed Swords
Berserkers are all about big weapons, and these swords don’t disappoint. While Dragon Knights have nice weapons, the Berserkers show off their strength by lugging these massive blades around. Two-handed swords are great for single target and group attacks, much like the two-handed axes. The swords are able to stun your enemies – via Ludwig’s Stun fighting style – or great for tanking by reducing the amount of physical/magical damage you take – via Walter’s Defense fighting style.
Strength / Vitality
This combination is a stat heavy build, meaning you won’t be spending points on abilities, with the focus being on strength and then vitality. This combination primarily relies on basic abilities and big hits to pull it through any battle.
Vitality / Strength
Similar to the above build, but switch the focus. With a large health pool, you’ll be able to out-last your enemy, but deal weaker hits. This build isn’t ideal for tanking though, because you won’t have the many Defender abilities that make a tank essential to a party. This combination is my list favorite for the this class, and only recommended for the seasoned Berserker player.
Strength / Berserker
Here comes the damage! This combination has a heavy focus on strength and on berserker abilities. This pure DPS build gives you the strong hits of Strength/Vitality, but replaces that large health pool with some great abilities. This combination is recommended for the Berserk that wants to really pump out the hurt.
Strength / Defender
An odd combination, but one build that works well, the Strength/Defender build is meant for a tank. This combination focuses on strength, to continue hitting hard, but picks up defender skills to keep targets on him. Vitality is still important in this build, but you’ll need Defender abilities to help you through those tough fights. This combination is meant for the Berserker tank, the wonderful meat shield.
The Berserker class of SUN is perfect for those looking to be the big guy in the room. With large, swinging swords and axes, they can deal out the damage, or soak it up for his team. These fierce warriors are sure to get any players blood pumping!
