The Basics The Dragon Knight is one of two melee classes of SUN, and is a pure damage dealer. These hardened nobles can either use weapons to pull off some amazing acrobatic moves against their enemies, or call upon Dragonic magic to produce devastating magical attacks in the face of their enemies. The most skilled Dragon Knight will be able to turn into half-dragon, half-man creatures, which will terrify even the toughest of foes.
The Weapons
Spears
The spear is the Dragon Knight’s weapon of choice, because of their devastating Combat abilities, and the capability to hit multiple enemies at once. The spear is an elegant and threatening weapon that can hurt single targets – via Alleister’s Damage fighting style – or take down a large group – via Flavius’ Piercing fighting style.
Dual One-Handed Swords
What’s better than one weapon? Two weapons of course! The dual one-handed swords are perfect for the Dragon Knight that always wanted to be a ninja, but didn’t have the time to do it. These swords are intended for single target damage, and have a chance to land more critical strikes – via Torres’ Critical fighting style – or swing with incredible speed – via Restor’s Speed fighting style.
Strength / Agility
This combination is all about stats and not about abilities. With this combo, a Dragon Knight will have devastating attacks, incredible critical strikes, and a lot of dodge too; however, he’ll be missing out on Combat abilities and Dragonic spells. This build is recommended for any player that considers themselves minimalists, or a seasoned Dragon Knight.
Agility / Strength
Just like before, a combination that focuses on stats. With this build you’ll have more critical strikes, dodge more enemy attacks, but deal less damage per swing than the Strength/Agility combination. Because this is stat heavy, you’ll still be missing the Combat abilities and Dragonic spells. This is my least favorite combination for the Dragon Knight class.
Strength / Combat
Here come the fighters! This combination is made to land devastating attacks, and provide you with enough Combat abilities to keep the damage rolling. This build won’t have critical strikes like Agility / Strength, but the abilities will make the difference in damage done. I recommend this build for the starter Dragon Knight.
Strength / Dragonic
Here come more fighters! This build is still melee intensive, but relies on the Dragonic magic to blow enemies away. This build may require some additional points into the intellect or spirit stats than any other build, but you’ll still deal great damage to your opponents. Those who want to turn into dragons quickly should go for this build, as a Dragonic Proficiency of 92 is required for the half-dragon, half-man form.
The Dragon Knight of SUN is a great class to play, and offers players a unique feel to melee combat. You’ll swing fast, move fast and later on turn into a wicked half-dragon, half-man hybrid. If you like fighting close and personal but don’t want to be the meat shield, than grab your spears and swords, and get ready to rumble as the Dragon Knight.
